Mama, I see you. The exhaustion in your eyes, the weight of the never-ending to-do list, the deep sighs between the chaos. You are balancing a hundred things—motherhood, work, marriage, friendships, faith—and it feels like you are running on empty. You love your children fiercely, but some days, you feel like you are barely holding it all together.
You are not alone. And more importantly, you were never meant to carry it all alone.
1. Rest is Holy, Not Optional
We live in a world that glorifies busyness, but God calls us to rest. When we push ourselves beyond what we were created for, burnout is inevitable. But rest is not laziness; it is obedience.
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28
Jesus Himself withdrew from the crowds to pray and rest (Luke 5:16). If the Son of God needed time away, how much more do we? Rest is not selfish. It is an act of surrender, a declaration that God is in control—even when we step away.
2. You Are Not a Failing Mom—You Are a Surrendered One
There is a lie that whispers, You should be doing more. You should be better. You should have it all figured out by now. But mama, perfection is a myth. God is not asking you to be a perfect mom. He is asking you to be a surrendered one.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9
When you are weak, He is strong. When you feel like you can’t take one more step, He carries you. Surrender is not quitting—it’s acknowledging that you were never meant to do this alone.
3. You Were Chosen for Your Children—Exactly As You Are
On the days you feel like you aren’t enough, remember this: God did not make a mistake when He chose you to be your child’s mother.
He knew exactly what He was doing when He placed that baby in your arms. He saw your flaws, your shortcomings, and your struggles—and still, He said, “You are the one.”
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” – Ephesians 2:10
You are equipped. You are anointed. You are the mama your children need.
4. Joy Comes in the Morning
Maybe you’re in a season where the days feel long, and the nights feel even longer. Maybe you’re in the trenches of tantrums, sleepless nights, or the overwhelming pressure of motherhood. Hold on, mama.
“Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.” – Psalm 30:5 (NLT)
This season will not last forever. God is working in you and through you. There is joy ahead. There is grace for today.
5. Your Identity Is Not Found in How Much You Do
Being a mom is a calling, but it is not your entire identity. You are also a daughter of the King. You are loved, chosen, and held—even when you feel unseen.
You don’t have to earn your worth. You are already valuable because He says you are.
Breathe, Mama. You Are Held.
Tonight, take a deep breath. Lay it all at His feet. Let go of the guilt, the pressure, the weight of trying to be everything for everyone.
Jesus is near. His grace is enough. And you, mama, are doing better than you think.
You are loved. You are seen. You are enough.
Take heart, sweet mama. Tomorrow is a new day, and His mercies are new every morning.
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” – Lamentations 3:22-23
You’ve got this—because He’s got you.
With love,
Gerridene
