This Cancellation Policy outlines your rights, responsibilities, and the process for cancelling purchases, subscriptions, or coaching engagements from Gerridene Berg’s online platform (www.gerrideneberg.com), in compliance with the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (Act No. 68 of 2008) and other applicable South African laws.

We encourage you to read this policy carefully before confirming any orders or bookings on our platform.


1. Overview

This policy applies to:

  • Digital products, such as e-books, downloadable devotionals, guides, or printables.

  • Group coaching programmes, such as “Renewed in Him” or “Unshackle Your Thinking.”

  • One-on-one coaching sessions, booked on a once-off or subscription basis.

  • Online courses or workshops, either live or pre-recorded.

This policy does not cover physical product sales (as Gerridene Berg currently only sells digital goods), nor does it override your statutory rights under South African law.


2. Your Right to Cancel – Digital Products

In accordance with Section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA) and the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), consumers in South Africa may cancel certain transactions within 7 business days, known as the cooling-off period, provided that the product has not yet been downloaded or accessed.

Once a digital product (such as an e-book or devotional) has been downloaded or delivered via email, no cancellations or refunds will be granted, unless the product is:

  • Defective,

  • Misrepresented,

  • Not fit for purpose as described.

If you have accidentally purchased the wrong product or have not yet accessed your download, you may request a cancellation within 48 hours of purchase. This will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

3. Your Right to Cancel – Coaching Programmes

We understand that life happens, and plans may change. However, because our coaching sessions involve significant preparation, group commitment, and immediate access to digital material, we offer the following cancellation structure:

For Group Programmes (e.g., 90-Day Challenge)

  • You may cancel up to 7 calendar days before the programme start date to receive a full refund, minus bank charges or transaction fees (typically 5%).

  • Cancellations within 6 days of the start date will receive a 50% refund or the option to defer participation to the next round.

  • Once the programme has commenced and materials have been accessed, no refunds or cancellations will be issued.

For One-on-One Coaching

  • You may reschedule or cancel at least 24 hours before your session with no penalty.

  • Cancellations less than 24 hours in advance will be charged in full, unless rescheduled within the same calendar month.

All cancellations must be submitted via email with your name, the programme title, and reason for cancellation.


4. Subscription Services and Recurring Payments

Some coaching services may be sold on a subscription or instalment basis.

Monthly Subscriptions:

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time by notifying us in writing at least 7 days before your next billing date.

  • You will continue to have access to the content or group for the remainder of your current billing cycle.

  • Refunds are not issued retroactively for unused services if you forgot to cancel.

Instalment-Based Programmes:

  • These are binding financial commitments. Even if you choose to discontinue participation mid-programme, the remaining instalments remain payable, as access to material and resources is granted upfront.


5. Refunds on Cancelled Services

Refunds will only be processed through the original payment method used (e.g., Paystack or EFT). Depending on your bank and payment provider, refunds may take 5–10 business days to reflect.

If a refund is approved, you will receive confirmation via email, including the refund reference number and expected timeframe.

Please note:

  • Transaction or processing fees (usually 5–7%) are non-refundable.

  • We do not refund donations or love offerings submitted via the website.


6. Non-Cancellable Products and Services

According to the CPA and ECTA, the following are exempt from cancellation:

  • Customised or personalised services (e.g., one-on-one coaching tailored to your needs).

  • Digital goods downloaded or accessed.

  • Services already rendered.

This means that once a personalised coaching session has occurred or a digital file has been accessed/downloaded, your right to cancel is voided under law.


7. Exceptional Circumstances

We are a ministry-led platform that operates with compassion and grace. If you are facing a genuine emergency or hardship, we may accommodate cancellation or deferment requests beyond our standard policy. This is at our sole discretion.

We may ask for documentation to support your request (e.g., doctor’s note, family emergency confirmation, etc.) and assess whether a refund, credit, or future participation can be granted.

8. Our Right to Cancel or Postpone

We reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or reschedule any coaching programme or session under the following circumstances:

  • Low enrolment numbers (minimum thresholds not met),

  • Unexpected personal or family emergencies on Gerridene’s side,

  • Force majeure events (e.g., internet outages, natural disasters, illness).

In such cases, you will be offered:

  • A full refund,

  • A replacement session at a later date,

  • Or credit towards a future offering of your choice.


9. Dispute Resolution and Complaints

If you are dissatisfied with the service or product received and wish to raise a concern, we are committed to resolving the issue fairly and promptly.
